The Georgetown Square has lots of things to do and see (and, of course, to eat). The beautifully restored Williamson County Courthouse presides over the square, surrounded on all sides by pretty, painted buildings. If you’re in Georgetown on the first Friday or second Saturday of any month, you’re in for a treat. First Fridays, you’ll find shops open late, live music on the square, and other special events. The second Saturday of every month, Market Days are held on the square, with local artists and craftsmen selling their wares in booths. Just off the square, you’ll find the Palace Theatre, a beautifully restored movie house that is now home to year-round live theater productions, usually musicals, comedies, or musical comedies. The City of Georgetown provides free wi-fi on the square. If you’re looking for someplace to eat, all you have to do is ask. We’ve got lots of recommendations. The Claibourne House bed and breakfast is tucked away on a quiet street just a block away from Georgetown’s public library. At the library, you’ll find computers with internet that visitors are welcome to use and free wi-fi for those who bring a laptop. Often, the library plays host to art exhibits from area artists, with paintings, photography, sculpture, and more. The Friends of the Library sells gently used books, as well, with proceeds to benefit the library.
